Dancing queen…

As I may have mentioned a few times already, Greta had her first ballet/tap class this week and lemme tell ya, she had a blast. I tried to upload some video here a minute ago, but, I couldn’t figure out how to do it quickly or easily (words that Mrs. Yeti and I live by these days!) so, it will have to wait for another time. But, trust me, Greta looked adorable in her dance clothes!

Now, if I could only convince her NOT to wear her leotard, tights and dance shoes every day when she wakes up, all would be right with the world. Seriously, we had to practically cut her out of her leotard the other night for her bath…she is obsessed! And the tap shoes? Forget it. Those pretty little things — which we ended up buying at the dance studio for a very reasonable $25.00! — are safely in hiding till next Monday.

Oh, and on top of all that, Greta is totally making friends in class now too. Her BFF at the moment is a cute little red-haired girl named Fiona. And lucky for me, Fiona’s mom and Grandma are really cool too, so, I have someone to talk to in the waiting room while our little one’s dance. Hooray!

That’s cute, wanting to practically have her dance outfit tattooed to her body for life so she can sleep and wake in it and just have it on all day long… LOL Rugrat has a ballerina outfit, but she isn’t that obsessive over it, and it’s probably due in part to her not taking ballet classes. Instead, she opted for martial arts… and so THAT’s the outfit she’d love to wear all day, which means she feels she can kick and punch everything in sight while in her “outfit of invisibility.” 😉 She’s been known to put on her safety gear and try to spar with Hubby, and no – Hubby’s not always made aware that he’s about to do battle with a heavily padded 7-year-old. LOL I swear the martial arts gear (safety stuff, weapons, etc) costs so freaking much, but thank goodness she likes the classes so the investment’s worth it.

Glad to see your rugrat (and mine) have found a hobby that doesn’t require mommy/daddy all the time (no more clingy) and that promotes physical activity as well. Yay, rugrats! 🙂

OOps, I meant, “invincibililty”, not “invisibility”. LOL It’s not like she disappears into thin air, she just thinks she’s untouchable sometimes.

      • Ha! I knew what you meant. But it is pretty funny when she thinks she’s wearing an invisibility cape too, especially when she’s doing something bad. I’m like: “I can see you!” and she has actually replied: “No, you can’t see me!” Hilarious!
