Cadbury Screme Eggs!

OK, I know I just gushed poetic about the current crop of pumpkintastic seasonal food offerings at Trader Joe's, but, Greta and I stumbled upon another fun Halloween-ish treat over the weekend that I simply had to share with you. So, please bear with me as I give you Cadbury Screme Eggs!

That's right, amigos, Cadbury eggs aren't just for Easter anymore! And though Greta swears the oozing green filling tastes like melted mint chocolate chip ice cream. I think they taste pretty much the same as the sugary yellow and white Cadbury goodness we've all come to love (or loathe!) over the years. Except for the fact that they're, you know, a sickly green color!

Anyway, Greta was so excited about these tasty treats that she had me film her eating one for the first time on her Planet Greta blog. We even added a little Halloween movie magic to this shoot too, so, enjoy the clip below and happy October!

Planet Greta: The Return!

They say that when one door closes another one opens, and I guess the same thing could be said about blogs. This week we are finally closing the doors on our original Make.See.Eat.Do blog — which started all this bloggy awesomeness way back in 2007 — just in time to open the door to the official “reboot” of our Planet Greta photo blog.

That’s right, amigos, that old baby photo blog that hasn’t been updated since Greta’s third birthday (!) has been reborn as the official homebase for Greta’s super cool YouTube video series, titled, appropriately enough, Planet Greta! Hooray!

And lest you think I pushed Greta into the internet video making biz, let me assure you that the entire venture was her idea. Well, except for the name, which wasn’t as sparkly and girlie as she wanted, but, seemed like a perfect fit for all the crazy stuff she wants to highlight on her “show.”

And speaking of crazy stuff, Planet Greta runs the gamut, baby! It’s not exactly great art, but, Greta and I have been having a lot of fun making videos about everything from collectible toy “unboxings” to constructing cool LEGO Friends sets and we even have an episode featuring a cereal eating competition with her “cowboy cousin” Colton. In other words, Planet Greta is just as fun, goofy and eclectic as Greta herself. So, enjoy! And if you like what you see, please feel free to “like” us on YouTube. Thanks!

Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

I already posted a couple of pics and a very cool video of a deeply-moving commencement speech that Steve Jobs gave at Stanford in 2005 on our sister blog, so, thought I’d break it up a little and post my favorite quote from the speech here.

“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose…you are already naked, there is no reason not to follow your heart.” – Steve Jobs

Man, just imagine all the amazing shit we could get done if we stopped caring what other people think and forged our own path through life. Steve Jobs didn’t just talk about changing things up and thinking different, he lived it. And the world, and my life for sure, is a better place because of it.

Thanks again for everything you did to make our world a much cooler and truly magical place, Mr. Jobs. You will be greatly missed…
