Star Trek: “The Wreath of Kahn”

So, just as I was getting ready to go to bed and stop blogging about Christmas trees and crafting one’s own Middle-Earth entirely from LEGOS, I came across this amazing, one-of-a-kind Christmas wreath and just had to share it with you guys.

Annie Shapiro's WREATH OF KAHN

I heard about this nerdtastic ode to Christmas and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn from a friend’s status update on Facebook, but, apparently the Wreath of Kahn –has been taking the internet by storm for a few days now. It might not be the first Wreath of Kahn out there, but, it is pretty damn cool. According go her twitter feed, the wreath was designed by NYC-based Annie Shapiro. I don’t know her personally, but, in the spirit of the season, I love her already.

Kudos to you @apianoshrine for sharing your awesomeness with the world, may you and yours “live long and prosper” for many Christmas’ to come!

The Library Store on Wheels @ Renegade Craft Fair L.A. (Dec. 14-15)

We will probably be too busy decorating our Christmas tree and working on getting our cards in the mail to be able to attend, but, the super fun Renegade Craft Fair is in town this weekend. And this year, which marks the fourth year that Renegade has come to Los Angeles, the Library Store’s rocking Library Store on Wheels will be there as well, so, how can you lose?

So, if you live in the area and are craving some unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for the folks on your Christmas list or, hell, even for yourself, get thee to the Los Angeles State Historic Park and get shopping! Tell them the Yeti sent you…

WestJet’s “Christmas Miracle” video

Greta and I have already watched loads of cheesy, syrupy-sweet Christmas movies this season — if you’re interested, Lifetime’s Christmas in the City and the Bruce Davison starrer Christmas Angel were totally watchable, so, keep an eye out for them! — but nothing we’ve seen can hold a candle to the video Canadian carrier WestJet released earlier this week.

Entitled Christmas Miracle, the clip is all over Facebook and has been viewed a whopping 10 million-plus times on YouTube, so, you’ve probably already seen it. But, if you haven’t, grab some Kleenex and prepare to be terribly, terribly moved by the Christmas spirit. Enjoy!
